1. Remove the Wheel

2. Bearing Removed

The next step is to remove the bearings from the wheels by pulling them out with the truck’s axle. Place the wheel halfway onto the axle’s end so that just one direction is attached. Twist the wheel outward and around while praying the bearing out, ensuring that the axle firmly grabs the inside of the path. Reverse the rotation and continue.

Some setups employ bearing spacers that sit between the two bearings when installed in the wheel, while others already have spacers built into them. Wheels and bearings for longboards are the most typical places to find these. Keep track of any spacers your bearings may have in your hardware tray.

3. Add bearings to the new wheels.

Start by placing your two bearings on the truck axle of your skateboard, shield side down. Press it onto the top bearing when your wheel is completely seated in rotation. You should push your weight into it to ensure the direction is evenly placed while turning the wheel. To install the second bearing, turn the wheel over and repeat the process.

4. Fix Wheels

Now that the bearings are installed, you can mount your new wheels on the trucks’ axles. With the right side facing out, slide the wheel onto the axle. The side that should be on the exterior is indicated by design or angled cuts on some wheels. Though others are unaffected, you can mount them any way you like. When you’ve decided, thread the axle nut onto the axle until it is finger-tight. Tighten the nut using a wrench or skate tool until there is almost no space between the wheel and the truck. Your bearings may be harmed by overtightening.
